Kit Garnett is an artist blacksmith specialising in bespoke forged metalwork and sculpture.
Working from his forge on the English–Welsh border, Kit creates distinctive, hand-forged pieces for both private and commercial projects nationwide. His work includes bespoke gates, railings, architectural metalwork, garden sculpture, fire pits, birdbaths and other one-off commissions.
Each piece is individually designed and made to suit its setting, combining traditional blacksmithing techniques with a contemporary, sculptural approach. Influenced by Art Nouveau, natural forms and surrealism, Kit's work balances strength, movement and craftsmanship.
Kit works closely with private clients, architects, landscape designers and interior designers, from initial concept and design through to fabrication, finishing and installation.
Kit's passion for making began early, leading him from a background in Engineering to a First Class degree in Artist Blacksmithing from Hereford College of Arts in 2019.
After establishing his own practice, he spent time working in Australia before returning to the UK and establishing his current workshop in 2023.
