Bio

“My love for making things started in school when I was about 14 years old. It was pretty obvious that the workshop was the place for me and where I wanted to spend my time. This led me to further studies in Resistant Materials and a diploma in Engineering before making the decision to specialise in artist blacksmithing.

Blacksmithing appealed to me because it allowed involvement in all aspects of a project: from meeting with clients and designing, to sampling, manufacturing, finishing, and installing. I find meaning in being responsible and involved with the entire creative process from start to finish.

I started on the Artist Blacksmithing degree at Hereford College of Arts in 2016 and graduated with a first in 2019. During my time at Hereford I learnt the technical skills required to forge steel, how to operate the relevant equipment and how steel in itself moves and forms. I was also able to develop my style of work which is rooted in interests of Art Nouveau, surrealist styles and distortion.

After Hereford I went into running my own business; making sculptures and taking on commissions, before travelling to Australia to work for other people and companies. In 2023 I was lucky enough to acquire a more permanent workshop which is just on the English border to Wales.

This pretty much leads me to the present day where I’m pleased to say that I’m back open for business ”
